Great amenities, breakfast, okish priced, shady location
- What did you like most?Hotel is great overall, a very good variety of breakfast items (the waffles were a hit), ok-sized rooms, comfy beds and amenities. Price was alright for what was offered but having in mind the location, I think it could have been lower... Manhattan was one or two subway stops away. A few fast food restaurants that you could dine in or take away during evenings and night.
- Was there anything you didn't like?LOCATION: The location, literally "in the hood". All kind of shady folks hanging out near shops, on the street drinking alchool and smoking weed. There were cops around during the night and we felt safe then but the first few nights, we took Uber's back. We didn't feel in danger, likely folks in the neighbourhood were accustomed with tourists due to the number of hotels relatively nearby. DEPOSIT: They ask for a one night stay as a deposit. For us was 250 USD and it was locked on my card (kept unclaimed by the hotel) for 1 full month. While I understand the reason to withhold it, I do not understand why it needs to be so long. In fact, it was automatically reverted by my bank, meaning they gave 0 F's about it when I insistently asked for a proof it was refunded, or that they have processed it.
